Our Story

A lifelong angler and fly rod builder for more than twenty years, I have a passion for turning reel seat inserts from exotic and unusual woods and creating unique fly rod grips from cork, cork burl and tree barks. Some of my favourite woods to work with are English Oak and Elm burrs, Maple, Camphor, Buckeye and highly figured Olivewood although there are many others that find their way onto the lathe that I pick up along the way.

I source quality rod blanks and components to show off my custom-made grips and reel seat inserts and offer a one-stop-shop for the first time experienced fly rod builder.

My top places to fish would have me escaping to the rivers and Llyns of Wales, the Derbyshire dales and further afield when time allows, the limestone rivers of Lincolnshire and the reservoirs at Rutland and Grafham are my home waters, so I’m never far away from a trout, grayling or pike.

The wood and cork used are responsibly sourced and I only work with responsible timber merchants who operate under EUTR regulations.

As a business, we’re proud to support the Wild Trout Trust
