Fortitude Rod Co was founded by Jason Pereira, a lifelong angler and fly rod builder with more than twenty years of experience designing and building custom fly rods. What began as a passion for creating beautiful, functional fly rods has grown into one of the UK's specialist suppliers of premium fly rod blanks, rod building components and handcrafted custom parts.

Handcrafted Reel Seat Inserts & Cork Grips

At the heart of the business is a passion for craftsmanship. Each handcrafted reel seat insert and custom cork grip is individually created using responsibly sourced materials and traditional woodworking techniques.

We work with a wide range of beautiful timbers, including English Oak Burr, Elm Burr, Maple, Camphor, Buckeye and highly figured Olivewood, alongside many other unusual and exotic species that make every build unique. Our custom grips are produced using premium cork, cork burl and natural bark to create handles that are as individual as the rods they become part of.

Inspired by the Water

Being on the water is what inspires everything we do. Much of our time is spent fishing the rivers of Staffordshire and the Derbyshire Dales, with regular trips to North Wales, Mid Wales, the River Eden and the Scottish Borders whenever time allows.

That experience influences the products we choose, the advice we give and the standards we expect from every component we sell.
