As well as our standard stock items we also offer a full custom option for grips and reel seat inserts, with grips of all shapes and sizes from an array of cork and cork burls as well as birch and cottonwood bark there are many options over natural cork.

Our reel seat inserts are where it all started for Fortitude Rod Co, in a tiny workshop turning wooden inserts from many native and exotic woods and burrs.

We always have a good stock on hand of Amboyna, Turkish and English Walnut, Spalted Beech and Chestnut, Elm and Oak Burr as well as olivewood and many other very unique pieces many of which are exhibition quality. If we don't have it we have two exceptional timber merchants near us who usually have or can source any wood legally available.

With high quality cork becoming rarer and very expensive FRC were one of the first custom builders to embrace the different types of engineered cork for grips, as well as cork we also offer custom grips from birch and cottonwood bark.
