YS Dry Fly: I noticed something interesting in the fly fishing industry…constant innovation. A lot of my customers have expressed that they miss the feel of the graphite rods from 20-30 years ago. Many feel they were some of the best dry fly rods ever created so I decided to replicate the feel of these traditional graphite rods, while enhancing the recovery and lowering the weight. What I’ve created are old school rods utilizing lower modulus graphite, leaving them, unpainted, and unsanded. These rods have a buttery action that you have to cast to believe.

I’ve built on and fished the Livingston YS DF range of rods in all three, line weights, for a couple of seasons and they are in my opinion the very best dryfly oriented graphite rods available at any price. All are true to line weight, which many modern rods are not, and despite fine tips and delicate presentation they bend deep to unlock the power in the butt section. 4wts are my go-to size and the 904 is the best 4wt graphite rod I have ever fished with. The blanks have a unique surface finish which I think is very cool and is a joy to wrap on.
