At 11' length 1102 and 1103 models tend to medium flex in use.  They are best suited to nymphing, bugging and leader-to-hand fishing techniques where the added length improves line control and fly contact on extended drifts.   Choose the 1102 for maximum light line sensitivity for small to medium flies and beadheads, or the 1103 if you want a bit more power in the tip for casting heavier flies. Both models have sufficient butt power for normal river conditions.   

Also suitable for upstream dry fly casting at short to medium range, although a shorter 9-10' rod will be more nimble if this is your primary intended use.
