Taniwha fly rod blanks are carefully constructed tapers from a designer whose early career included designing high performance fly rods for a well-regarded New Zealand brand before establishing his own advanced composites manufacturing facility based in China.  These durable blanks offer excellent quality fit, finish and performance at a surprisingly reasonable price.

The TIM 10' #2/3 blank uses durable, intermediate-modulus, uni-directional carbon fibre pre-pregs wrapped on a helical carbon fibre scrim for improved hoop strength and tracking.  The result is a light, slim, and blank with a sensitive tip, plenty of feel and a smooth, fuller flexing medium to medium fast action that lends itself well to bugging and leader to hand techniques.
